Work out the stamp duty and government fees on a property purchase, including any first home buyer concessions you may be eligible for.
Stamp duty is usually the biggest upfront cost after your deposit. In Victoria, first home buyers pay no stamp duty on homes up to $600,000 and reduced duty up to $750,000 (checked November 2026).
You'll also need to budget for conveyancing, building and pest inspections, and lender fees. A broker can give you the full list before you start making offers.
